Science ideas for September 2014

I think this was the month of life science for Science Sunday, I had so many great ideas shared in that category, I didn’t even bother with the categories for this month.

6 ideas to get your kids excited about science

If you’re going to study life science with your kids, it’s a good idea to start off with this wonderful post from Gift of Curiosity and explore living versus non-living creatures.

Then you can explore some interesting bacteria and try your hand at making yogurt and exploring the bacteria involved.

Next look at some mushrooms and let your kids explore what my husband swears are tasty fungus, I on the other hand don’t like them.

And then look at all of the super cool bug ideas from Trillium Montessori: lifecycle of a cicada and lifecycle of a ladybug (she’s got more cool free prtinables if you check her blog out, I featured these two because cicadas are crazy here right now, and I love ladybugs, they make me smile).

This final one isn’t related to any life sciences, but since we’re studying astronomy ourselves right now, I thought I’d throw in this cool solar system model.

Now link up your SCIENCE posts, new and old, and then visit some of the other posts linked up and say hi. I’m going to be pinning, commenting, FBing or tweeting all of the posts linked up as the week goes by. At the end of the month I’m going to feature the best posts linked up.

Make sure to include a link back to my blog so people can come back from your post to see what others have done.  By linking you are agreeing I can feature your posts in a round up post later (I may use a picture to feature, but will link back).
